PHA Covid-related Update - Summer Season!

2021-05-24

Finally, some very, very good news that everyone has been hoping for… We have been waiting for the State of California to not only get rid of the Tier System on June 15, but also to stipulate that the distancing restrictions were also being lifted and the capacity limits were no longer in effect.

On Friday, May 21, the CDPH made that announcement, so the PHA will start a shortened Summer 2021 season on Sunday, June 20.
In anticipation of the Summer Season happening, please start to get your team organized and ready to play.  We will have season details such as game times, days of the week, cost, etc in the coming week.
The Summer Season will wrap up by the end of September, as usual, and the Winter Season will begin at the start of October; this will be a full winter season ending in late March, 2022.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact David Greene for further information.
We can’t be happier to be able to finally get back open and play some adult hockey.  We hope you join us for the Summer Season.
As of now, the mandate to continue to wear a mask indoors is in effect for everyone in every ice rink.  There has been plenty of discussions at the county, state and federal levels about lifting that mandate.  We will follow the mask restrictions as required, and we’re hoping they will be lifted prior to June 20.
There are currently no plans to require proof of vaccination to enter the rink.  We will follow all local, state and federal guidelines regarding vaccinations.  We greatly encourage everyone to get vaccinated as quickly as possible.
We also want you to know that we continue to have hand sanitizer, wipes and other safety precautions in place.  We also want to let you know that the two whole rink air scrubber systems we installed previously have been in continuous operation; these systems are well beyond anything that was ever mandated or that most other rinks have.  These systems are above and beyond the typical ice rink dehumidification system that every ice rink has to have in order to operate.
